LYHYT has closed

Service closed on October 3, 2026

After consideration, LYHYT has been permanently closed.

LYHYT was created as a simple and free URL shortening service. However, there are already many well-established services providing the same functionality, and LYHYT received very little actual use. Continuing to operate a separate service with such limited usage no longer made practical sense.

Running the service also requires ongoing web hosting, maintenance and other resources. With current hosting costs, keeping LYHYT online could no longer be justified by the amount the service was being used. Rather than continuing to maintain an almost unused service, the decision was made to close it.

As of October 3, 2026, new short URLs can no longer be created and previously created LYHYT links are no longer available.

Thank you to everyone who tried or used LYHYT.
